The inauguration of the new shipunloader from Zhenhua Port Machinery Company, ZPMC, in Shanghai has been accomplished.

The Swedish Minister for Communications Mrs Åsa
Torstensson congratulated in her inauguration speech the Port of Oxelösund to the new shipunloader and enhanced cargo handling capacity. She expressed how distinct and clear the signal from the Port is in our belief of the future despite the ongoing recession.
– An exceptionally strong message, she said.

250 honourable guests enjoyed the inauguration cere-mony. The final cut was done in Chinese tradition. The ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China Mr Chen Mingming honoured the event together with his wife Madam Ye Shufang. All were enjoying Tai Chi and Qigong, chinese food, performance artists and specially composed percussion music.

We are most grateful to all who honoured the party. We are all in some way or another contributing to the successful flow of cargo over the port in Oxelösund.

Now we are ready to continue to grow as a bulkport for cargo to and from Sweden as well as for transhipment cargo in the Baltic region. We are proud to be able to offer this new capacity to old and new customers.
