Authorisation

Consent for the activities undertaken in the Port of Oxelösund is given by the County Council in Södermanland according to the environmental code for continuing and expanding activities. The consent allows for handling annually a total of 5.5 million tons of cargo over the quay including chemical deliveries from tankers.

 

The Port of Oxelösund takes in oil for storage in underground rock caverns. This work occurs with special authorisation from the Concessions Board for Environmental Protection, section 21.11.1972 and 9.4 1974.

 

The Port of Oxelösund is commissioned by SSAB Oxelösund AB (Swedish Steel) to man their wharf in SSAB’s terminal. This is allowed under SSAB's environmental authority.

 

The Port of Oxelösund declares to the authorising authority and in the official port statistics the volume of all services carried under the respective authorisations.
