Storage facilities

Applicable from 1/3/2007 until further notice.

                                         

1.

Space for the temporary storage of goods in the port’s warehouses and storage areas is permitted if space allows, after agreement on fees and according to the following conditions.

The port warehouses are open Monday to Friday (except Bank holidays) during normal working hours

 

3.

For goods arriving by sea or goods which are to be despatched by sea, a charge is levied if the goods remain for more than 7 days (loading /unloading days included) or during storage time according to the table below:

In warehouse:

On open ground out of reach of         
quayside cranes :

C

For storage areas within the reach of quayside cranes:

There is a limited amount of storage space within the reach of quayside cranes. For storage in these areas a fee is levied according to 3B +100 %.

When calculating the fee part days are counted as whole days as are part m².

Fees will be charged when goods are removed from the warehouse or storage area. If goods remain a longer time fees will be charged at the end of every month.

Accounts will be rounded up to the next Swedish crown.

 

5.

Storage regulations

 

A

Goods may only be stored in places designated by the port and only to the given height and weight per m². In other cases the Rules and guidance for the Port of Oxelösund apply in accordance with Swedish Ports and Terminals Regulations 1989.

 

B

The following goods are not accepted for storage in the port’s warehouses; goods which can cause danger, inconvenience or damage to buildings or other goods in storage; Explosives, inflammable, corrosive or strong smelling goods; liquid in containers if the container is not completely sealed.

The Port Authority has the right to approve the storage of other goods.

 

C

Goods being stored shall be clearly marked with the owners name and the date of storage.

 

D

The owner responsible ,or his agent, are obliged, if the Port Authority directs, to remove or have removed goods from the warehouse or storage area immediately or within a designated time. If the owner does not comply with this demand, or neither he nor his agent can carry out the instructions mentioned, the Port Authority has the right to remove the goods at the owners cost.

 

6.

Liability

 

The Port Authority cannot be held responsible for loss or damage, by fire or any other cause, to goods in storage.
